The international conference PhotoStories – Where photography meets multimedia storytelling departed from the assertion that there is a substantial lack of information on this subject in the Netherlands. Its aim is to present us new concepts of storytelling and help us to imagine new perspectives on the future of the medium.
The first conference was held in May 2011 at the Nederlands Fotomuseum in Rotterdam with a follow-up in September 2011, during the Noorderlicht Fotofestival. The conference contained a dazzling and packed program of first class lectures, workshops, meetings and discussions from leading international figures in the field of media, cinema and photography.
The second edition of PhotoStories will be held in May 21 and 22 2015 in Amsterdam, at Pakhuis De Zwijger. PhotoStories is organised by Nederlands Fotomuseum, IDFA DocLab, PhotoQ, Paradox, Jenny Smets, supported by World Press Photo and Eye Film Institute.
